The Release Is Here!

Purrate Adventure: Volcano Isle Launches!

Firstly, Purrate Adventure has received many changes upto the release:

Additions:

Golden Coconut & Golden Rum - The Golden Coconut & Golden Rum have been placed on the Island granting permanent use of abilities. This addition allows for more creative maneuvers and rewards players that search that little more.

New Route - A new dangerous route has been created to the middle of the island. (What could be there?)

Map - An addition requested by players and playtesters alike, a dynamic transition to the map can be done at any time using the (M) key.

Camera Mode - The (E) key now takes the player in and out of camera mode, the (F) key inside Camera Mode will zoom in/out.

Move & Attack - Mallow can now walk/sprint and attack at the same time. This change makes destroying objects on the island feel more satisfying without stopping your platforming pace.

Jump Thrust - Using attack whilst jumping will perform a Jump Thrust, an action that pushes the player forward in the direction of the camera. This mechanic allows for more precise platforming movement and can be used to extend jump height, length or fix a mistimed jump. Thrust Jump can only be performed once in the air and resets upon landing.

Destructible Boulders - They're scattered throughout the Island and take a few hits to break. (what could be inside (or behind them?)

Music & SFX - The music both in the menu and on the island has been changed to original soundtracks composed by the developer. Additional SFX has been implemented corresponding to the new additions.

Loading Screen - A loading screen has been added that displays all controls for the game.

Credits - The credits (Accessed on the Main Menu) now include the playtesters that were involved up to the release of the title.

Motion Blur Setting - Camera control is important in 3D Platformers, now you can decide if you prefer the blur or not.

Trailer - Attached to this dev log is the new trailer!

Fixes:

Optimized & Reduced Foliage - After the previous update, the addition of so much foliage to the isle made it look a lot better, but took too much performance for Purrate Adventures design. This change should allow lower-end performance PCs to have no issues when exploring.

Power-Ups Now Reset - When picking up 2 power-ups of the same variant, Mallow will now have that power-ups duration reset. This allows for much quicker platforming sequences that require prolonged use of the same power-up.

Saving - The save system of Purrate Adventure is still not purrfect, but it is a lot more consistent now. The issues regarding saving are the highest priority for future updates coming to Volcano Isle, but playtests conclude these issues don't negatively affect their experience.

Volume Sliders - Volume sliders will now save your changes and should persist between the menu and in-game.

Purrate Adventure now contains the mechanics, level design, and control possible for players to make their own routes, exploits, and enjoyment. This has all been thanks to the dedicated work of a single developer making use of a few assets, and the fantastic feedback from players and playtesters.
